Wellness is about more than physical fitness. It is about creating opportunities for our people to connect, encourage one another and build healthy habits together. This spirit came to life during the 2026 Pupkewitz Spinning League, which brought teams from across the Pupkewitz Group together for six weeks of friendly competition, teamwork and movement.
Now in its third year, the internal Spinning League continues to grow as part of our commitment to employee wellbeing. Inspired by the Tour de Windhoek, the League gives our employees an opportunity to get moving while strengthening connections across the Group.
From 4 July to 14 August, seven teams took on the challenge across six legs of the competition. Each leg required four riders to complete 7.5 kilometres each, working together to cover a total of 30 kilometres.
But the League quickly became about much more than finishing kilometres.
Week after week, colleagues showed up to support their teams, cheer from the sidelines and encourage riders to keep going. Different divisions hosted the League along the way, creating an opportunity for employees who may not work together every day to connect through a shared experience.
After six weeks of determination and some impressive performances, Bike Patrol 3.0 emerged as the 2026 Pupkewitz Spinning League champions.
Northern Tigers secured second place, while Central Cyclones completed the podium in third place.
The League also recognised the teams that made an impact beyond the stopwatch. Bike Patrol 3.0 received the Best Team Spirit floating trophy for consistently showing up, encouraging one another and bringing energy to every leg. The Holding Platters received the Best Host floating trophy for the memorable welcome and experience they created when hosting the League at Pupkewitz Catering, while Formula One Riders from Pupkewitz Motors were recognised as Best Dressed for their commitment to showing up in their team cycling kit throughout the competition.
The League would not have been possible without the support of Virgin Active Maerua Mall, our wellness partner throughout the competition.
From providing the spinning bikes used during the League to giving participating employees access to the gym and spinning classes for practice, their support helped turn the initiative into more than a competition. It created another avenue for our people to prioritise movement and wellbeing.
Spinning League reminded us that wellbeing does not always have to happen alone. Sometimes it looks like a colleague cheering you through the final kilometre. Sometimes it is a team showing up even when they are not the ones competing. And sometimes it is simply choosing to move together.
As the League continues to grow, so does the spirit behind it: healthier people, stronger teams and greater connection across the Pupkewitz Group.
Six weeks. Seven teams. One shared commitment to wellbeing and an even stronger Pupkewitz team.
