The launch was officiated on the 31st of October 2025 by His Worship Vicent Kahua, Mayor of Omaruru, alongside the Pupkewitz Megabuild leadership and community stakeholder

Josephat Kustaa , Head of Business Development & Innovation at Pupkewitz Megabuild, said the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to supporting regional development and empowering local contractors, homeowners, and DIY enthusiasts.

Omaruru is a growing town with immense potential. By establishing a presence here, we aim to make building materials more accessible, stimulate local economic activity, and contribute meaningfully to infrastructure development.

He further shared that the new store will offer a wide range of products, including hardware, tools, plumbing, electrical supplies, and garden essentials. It will also feature Pupkewitz Megabuild’s signature customer service and expert advice, tailored to the needs of the Omaruru community.

Martin Schoeman, Managing Director of Megabuild, emphasized the strategic importance of the move.

Our expansion into Omaruru is part of a broader vision to serve every corner of Namibia with excellence. We’re not just opening a store; we’re investing in the future of the town and its people. In fact, 19 jobs were created through this project, marking a meaningful investment in people and progress.

The renovations were expertly carried by a Namibian contractor, with a total investment of N$5 million. The store features 600 square meters of retail space and 650 square meters of yard space, designed to serve our customers efficiently. We are also proud to hold stock valued at N$12 million, ensuring our shelves are well-equipped with the products our customers depend on. The store is expected to create new employment opportunities and foster partnerships with local suppliers and service providers, Martin shared.
