Help us keep our valuable employees safe, while we continue to help and serve Namibia.

Pupkewitz Megabuild has been monitoring the development around the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, and the illness it causes called COVID-19. As the situation around the COVID-19 continues to develop and the first cases have been identified in Namibia, our paramount concern has been for the health and safety of our staff, customers and the general public that we serve. We are taking COVID-19 extremely seriously and we have instituted additional safety measures and pro-active approach against the virus. While this is not an exhaustive list, here are some of the precautions we’re making across our business to ensure safe working and shopping environment. Our actions as an organisation will be led by the guidance given by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Namibian Ministry of Health Epidemic Control Department.

Stores & Non-Store Facilities: As part of our normal practice, our stores and other facilities are cleaned and sanitized daily. We have increased the frequency of cleaning and general hygiene maintenance in stores, staff areas and other locations. We’re also stepping up our efforts to disinfect high-traffic and high-touch areas such as our till areas and speed points, door handles and kitchen and bathrooms facilities as well as posting signage about handwashing and other preventative actions. We will make available sanitisers at all office and branch entrances for all staff, customers and visitors to use. The disinfectant will also be made available to wipe telephones, desks, shopping trollies and all surfaces.

Our Employees: All our employees are well informed of the COVID-19 symptoms and how the virus is spread. All Megabuild Employees are briefed on our preventative measures to ensure their and our customers' health. All Megabuild employees that are experiencing flu-like symptoms are requested to stay at home and consult their doctor.

Health Toll number: 0800 100 100.

The Pupkewitz Group and Pupkewitz Megabuild also made the following changes how we work:

No Pupkewitz Megabuild Employee is allowed to travel outside Namibia as from 16 March 2020.
Any recently travelled employees outside Namibia were disclosed.
Gatherings and meetings should only be held where necessary and should be limited in size and duration. Otherwise, these will be held via telephone or are cancelled.
No conferences are to be attended until further notice.
Suppliers visits from outside Namibia are cancelled until further notice.

For our Customers: We temporarily postponed all major customers' events. We are seeing an increased demand for face masks, hand sanitizers and other cleaning supplies in our stores. Our procurement and supply chain teams are working very hard to replenish these items as quickly as possible and are restocking as soon as possible. We are anticipating delays for certain imported products. That’s why we ordered more stock in January already.

Our customers have the opportunity to submit their quote request via our website:

And our sales team can assist you with our delivery service.

We’re grateful to our employees and suppliers who are working diligently to provide our customers with essential products and great shopping experience. We are following the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Namibian Ministry of Health Epidemic Control Department daily. We continue to ensure that our business practices and other measures for the safety of our customers and employees are consistent with the most up-to-date information.
